Sister Diane Marie Duprey Sr Diane Marie Duprey, age 84 years, died on September 9, 2021, at SSM Franciscan Courts, Oshkosh, WI. Sr. Diane Marie was born in Twin Rivers, WI on October 3, 1936. She was the fifth of thirteen children born to Ruth Schafelke and Euclide Duprey. She was baptized Diane Marie. She entered the Sisters of the Sorrowful Mother on August 29, 1955. She received the name Sister Mary Angelene when she received the religious habit on August 12, 1956. Later she changed her religious name back to her baptismal name, Sr. Diane Marie. Sister professed her final vows on August 12, 1963, in Milwaukee, WI. She celebrated her Silver Jubilee on September 12, 1983, her Golden Jubilee on September 14, 2008, and her 60th Jubilee in 2018, all in Denville, NJ. Sister Diane Marie taught at St. Francis Borgia School, Cederburg, WI (1958-1964); at Our Lady of Good Hope School, Milwaukee, WI (1964-1968) and St. Mary’s School, Denville, NJ (1968-1984). She was a Counselor at Dutton Counseling Center in Denville, NJ from 1986-1989. In 1997 she ministered as a chaplain at St. Clare Riverside Medical Center until 2002. Sister was on the U.S./Caribbean Leadership team from 1989-1997. Due to illness, Sister came to SSM Franciscan Courts on August 18, 2021. Sister received a BA in Liberal Arts from Mount Mary College in Milwaukee, WI in 1970 and her MA in Social Work from Fordham University in 1986. Sister was known for always having a smile and the hospitality she offered everyone. Sister is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Robert, Gary, Fred, Donald, Richard, Charles and Dennis Duprey and her sisters Adeline Duprey and Rosalyn Mikeal. She is survived by her sisters Audrey Gomez, Judy Rebarchek and Carol Helgeson along with nieces and nephews. Homecoming will be on Sunday, September 19, 2021, at 4:00 pm at SSM Franciscan Courts. The Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, September 20, 2021, at 10:30 am at SSM Franciscan Courts. Rev. David McDonnell, a longtime friend, will be the presider. Burial will be in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Oshkosh, WI. Fiss & Bills Poklasny Funeral Home oversees the arrangements.
