Martin Joseph Blonde

October 21, 1939 - March 19, 2021

Martin Blonde passed away on March 19th, 2021. He was born October 21,1939 to the late Clem and Frances Blonde in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Marty was a farm boy that enjoyed all things John Deere, horses and the Green Bay Packers! He graduated from East High School in 1957. Marty continued his education at Stout State University (Class of 1962) and received his master's degree in 1966. He even started his doctorate degree, but unfortunately never completed it. Marty's passion for the Industrial Arts guided him in becoming a teacher for tech ed - working in various school districts during his career. Marty was a long-time member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a Navigator in General Assembly 1304 in Oconomowoc, WI and a Fourth Degree in Council 614 in Oshkosh, WI. In 1973, Marty married his first wife, Charlotte (Piette). They spent sixteen wonderful years together before her tragic passing in February of 1989 on North Lake near their home. While he never could let go of her memory, Marty was open for anything God gave him. In June of 1990, Marty and his sisters traveled to New Jersey in his motorhome before flying to Germany. He enjoyed his two week stay seeing the Oberammergau's Passion Play and many other sights. He married his second wife, Molly (McCarville), on April 13th, 1991. Together they traveled all over the country. Sometimes with Molly's sister, Rita, and her husband, Don. Other times they would take one of Molly's children or grandchildren. Marty's motorhome put on many miles traveling from coast to coast - even up to Alaska! Marty was a collector of odds and ends. He enjoyed repurposing items to give away to the people he loved. Tinkering away in his garage or basement workshop brought him joy and, most of the time, peace. Marty also enjoyed taking photos of anything and everything he found to be interesting or worth remembering. He leaves behind stacks of frozen memories- mostly of people that he shared his life with, but also of objects he didn't want to forget. Marty is survived by his sisters: Sister Cecilia Blonde of Bay Settlement Convent in Green Bay, Sister Annette Blonde of Holy Family Convent in Manitowoc, and Joan (Dennis)Glysch of Green Bay. He is further survived by two nieces Amanda Griffin and Molly (Dave)Charles; three step-children, Susan Allen, Richard (Kim) Bluhm, John (Linda) Bluhm; 8 step grandchildren, and 12 step great grandchildren; along with many great friends and family. In honor of their 30th wedding anniversary, a double funeral service will be held for Marty and his wife, Molly, who passed November 14, 2020, on April 13th, 2021, at St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church, 830 S. Westhaven Drive in Oshkosh. Visitation will be from 9AM - 11AM with Mass to follow. Masks and social distancing will be observed. In memory of Marty and Molly's faith and loving companionship, let us part with their daily morning prayer: "We praise and thank you, Lord, for this beautiful day which you have given us to love and to serve you. We pray that everything we think, do, and say will give honor and glory to your most Holy Name."
