Ralph Edward Weno Jr.

July 4, 1944 - April 10, 2022

Ralph Edward Weno, Jr. , age 77, of Oshkosh passed away Sunday morning April 10, 2022 at Eden Meadows. Ralph was born July 4, 1944 in Windsor, Missouri, a son of Ralph Sr. and Kathleen (Harlan) Weno. Straight out of Windsor High School he went in the military and served in the United States Marine Corps 1962-1966 traveling overseas. He wound up in Charleston, South Carolina where he met and soon after married Ellen Harrell on Friday, August 13, 1965. Ralph was employed for Caterpillar-in Milwaukee & retired from Oshkosh Truck as a Welder. Ralph loved spending time with his family, playing cards, fishing in Little St. Germaine and elsewhere and spending money at the casino. He also loved tinkering in the garage wood working or re-wiring trailers a jack of all trades as well as a "teacher". He worked in the garden and loved sitting outdoors watching the birds and rabbits. Most of all he liked riding "Big Red". He is survived by and his memory will be cherished by his four children, Andrea(David) Holst, Kelly (Chad) Gehrke, Sarah (Darrell) Bowman and Mark Weno. He is survived also by his seven siblings: Edna Knox (Tom Kennedy), John (Edith) Weno, Mary Robinson, Jim (Ihlia) Weno, Robert (Karen) Weno, Warren Weno, Ann Reno and one sister-in-law Rosalie McCown. He is further survived by seven grandchildren: Kayla (Rob Gloudemanns) Holst, Andrew and Matthew Holst, Madaline and Nathan Moderson, and Ryan and Kamryn Gehrke, and one great-grandchild, Jacob Gloudemanns. Ralph is preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Weno and son David. His parents and siblings: Elsie McCown, Jeannette Womble, Elaine Weno and Claib Weno. Funeral services for Ralph will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 4:00 pm in the Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home, 865 S. Westhaven Drive in Oshkosh. A time of visitation will be held at the funeral home from 2:00 pm until the time of service. Full military honors will be accorded by the United Veterans Honor Guard following the service. Ralph's family would like to send a special thank you to all the people that cared for Ralph at Aurora -Oshkosh, ThedaCare Regional Medical Center - Neenah, and Eden Meadows - Oshkosh.
