WILLIAM MARHEINE

January 18, 2019

Bill Marheine passed away at Aurora Health Center in Oshkosh on Friday, January 18, 2019, at the age of 58. Bill is lovingly survived by his wife, Kim and his furry girl, Ginger. He will be forever remembered by his sisters, Kathy Marheine, Marilyn Livingston and Judy Nichols; father-in-law Bob (Joan) Dahlk; brother and sister-in-law Don and Chris Dahlk (Meredith, Nolan); seven godchildren; and so many special friends who are like family, but especially lifelong friends Pat and Debbie (Megan and Jack) LaFontaine; Jane, Melissa and Jeremy (special friend Theresa) Nygaard. Bill is predeceased by his parents, Edwin and Virginia (Paulik) Marheine; brother Larry; mother-in-law Judy Dahlk; brothers-in-law Chuck Livingston and Tom Nichols; amazing friend, Mike Nygaard; and many aunts and uncles. Bill was a lifelong resident of Oshkosh. He was employed for almost 30 years by Bemistape, and most recently by Intertape Polymer Group. He was a man who enjoyed his work, who took great pride and joy in helping others, and was often a great source of laughter and memory-making wherever he happened to be. Bill loved an adventure, whether golfing, fishing, cross country skiing, riding the Rocky Mountains with Kim, Mike and Jane on their motorcycles, or lately, plotting with his noon lunch buddies at the Trails End. Thought to have been cured of esophageal cancer almost eleven years ago, Bill was known to walk through the chemotherapy room at the Vince Lombardi Cancer Center during his visits through the years. He was a source of hope and strength for many others who faced uncertain and frightening days, and his courage and love were never more apparent than in those final days of his life. Though he had a difficult past few months, we felt God’s grace as we reflected on and quietly celebrated all the love, people and experiences that made life so dear. Bill now has the peace he so deserves. All are invited to celebrate Bill’s life at All Saints Lutheran Church, 1072 Honey Creek Road, Oshkosh, WI, on Wednesday, January 23, 2019. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am – 11:00am, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am. Pastor Dean Desilet will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Aurora Vince Lombardi Cancer Center, 855 N. Westhaven Drive, Oshkosh, WI 54904, or to the charity of your choice. Heartfelt thanks are extended to the many who prayed for, loved and supported Bill and Kim so well over the past few weeks and months. We received the best of loving care from the staff of the Aurora Vince Lombardi Cancer Center, and are especially grateful for the many Aurora staff and Aurora At-Home visiting nurses who walked with us so closely and with greatest kindness through these past days as Bill moved into God’s welcoming arms.
