Bonnie FERGUSON`

Bonnie Lou (Thompson) Ferguson passed away peacefully at the age of 79 with family at her side on January 16, 2023. Bonnie was born the youngest of five children, on August 14, 1943 to Leonard A. and Hazel E. (Speer) Thompson in Chester, Iowa. The family then moved to Spring Valley MN. and Wykoff MN. where Bonnie graduated from high school. When she was 12 years old she met the boy who would become the love of her life, Richard “Dick” Ferguson. They married on November 12, 1960 in Wykoff, MN. Together, they built a family and good life with their four children: Christine, Michael, Lonna and Brenda. While her children were young, Bonnie was a homemaker, volunteered at their school, and taught Sunday School. In 1973, Dick and Bonnie moved the family from Wykoff, MN to Wauwatosa, WI. Bonnie began working at First Wisconsin National Bank in Milwaukee and earned the esteemed “Diamond Status” employee award. In the 1980’s, she and Dick started their own business, Ferguson Industrial Services. After raising their four children they bought a home on Pewaukee Lake, WI. where they loved lake life and entertaining family and friends. In 1999 they sold their business and home, retired, and moved to Largo, Florida. During their 42-year marriage, Bonnie and Dick made the most out of their time together and were the couple many admired. They loved traveling, eventually achieving their dream of traveling cross country in their RV. Bonnie loved to dance and listen to music. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and was a fierce card player. Her warm, caring, and spunky personality meant she was never lacking for friends. Wherever they lived they made friendships that would last for decades. One of her greatest joys was being a grandma to her 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren who fondly called her G.G. Bonnie lived in Largo, FL until January 2022 and then moved to Oshkosh, WI to be closer to her family. She resided at Bella Vista Apartments. We all will cherish our memories of the last year we had with her here, living closer to family. Bonnie is survived by her brother Wesley (Kathy) Thompson Rochester, MN; her children Christine (Jeff) Collar New London, WI, Michael (Kay) Ferguson Juneau, WI; Grandchildren: Angela Oberthaler-Immel, Stacia Oberthaler, Stephanie (David Block) Ferguson, David Tyrell, Ryan Dembowiak, Kaitlin (Steven) Swick, Matthew (Stephanie) Ott, Daniel (Kelli Kent) Tyrell, Joseph (Chelsea) Schuster, Nicholas Ott; Great-Grandchildren: Paige, Preston, Andrew, Landon, Robbie, Layla, Ava, Emma, Olivia, Aiden, Jax, Dakoda, Braxton and Daylen, and seven step-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by the love of her life, Richard J. Ferguson; parents, Leonard and Hazel Thompson; daughters, Lonna M. Schuster and Brenda S. Wright, a sister Elenore Thompson; brothers, Ronnie Thompson, and Andrew Thompson; and her loving companion Joe Cembal. A visitation and Celebration of Life will be held at Fiss & Bills- Poklasny Funeral Home (865 S. Westhaven Dr. in Oshkosh) on January 28, 2023. The visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until noon followed by the Celebration of Life.
