Adeline (Terry) Goyke's Obituary
Adeline G. (Terry) Goyke, of Oshkosh, Wisconsin passed from this life very peacefully at 6:45pm Sunday, June 28, 2015 while at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics in Madison, WI. Her family - her children, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, surrounded her. She was 88 years old, born November 6, 1926 in Oshkosh, WI. Adeline was the third child, and only daughter, of John Anthony Gronowski and Pearl Josephine Nowicki Gronowski. She married Robert Edward Goyke Sr (1922 - 1974), on September 25, 1946, at St Josaphat's Church in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Adeline lost her husband to coronary disease in 1974. She was a graduate of Oshkosh High School, and later was employed by Wisconsin Axle, Deltox Rug, where she was a weaver; and Oshkosh Electric Company, all in Oshkosh. Adeline was also a very active volunteer at St. Josaphat's parish, and was a lifelong member. Interested in public service, she was also the Democratic candidate for Winnebago County Treasurer office in 1972, and proudly supported and hosted a coffee at her home for Muriel Humphrey, during Hubert Humphreys campaign, in the spring of 1972. Adeline also loved to garden, to read, to draw. She had many artistic talents. Most of all, Adeline was devoted to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She took a very active interest in each and every one, and loved being involved in all their projects in school. She was very proud of all their accomplishments. She was always most happy spending time with her family. Adeline is survived by her four children: Gary R. Goyke (Nancy Rottier), Madison, WI; Carol A. (Edward) Cepress, St. Paul, MN; Robert E. Goyke Jr (Debra), Omro, WI; and Annette M. Goyke Smith, Madison, WI. Her ten grandchildren: Regis Goyke, Sun Prairie, WI; Evan Goyke, Milwaukee, WI; Christine Nelson, Woodbury, MN; Michael Cepress, St. Paul, MN; Robert W. Goyke, Erin Parker, and Christopher Goyke, all of Oshkosh, WI; and Nicole Smith and Carrie Smith, both in Milwaukee, WI; and John A. Smith, Madison, WI; and many great grandchildren. Adeline had many wonderful relatives, neighbors and friends who were so kind and helpful. She appreciated living in a closeknit neighborhood where people regularly checked in with her, including her mail carrier. She appreciated all their care and kindness and help very much. Mass of Christian burial will take place at St. Josaphat's Church in Oshkosh at 11a.m. Monday, July 6th. Visitation will also be at the church from 10a.m. to 11a.m. Monday. Burial in Calvary Cemetery, Oshkosh, following the church services. Memorials accepted to either The American Heart Association or The Wisconsin Council of the Blind and Visually Impaired.
