Albert R. "Stormy" Stamborski's Obituary
Albert R. “Stormy” Stamborski, age 70, passed away peacefully at his home after a courageous battle with cancer on Friday, November 7, 2014. He was born on November 19, 1943 a son of the late Joseph and Gertrude Stamborski. Al proudly served his country in the US Army from 1962-1965 and married the former Shirley M. Daney on January 24, 1970. Shirley preceded him in death on July 28. 2009. He had worked for both Rockwell International and Medalist Co. along with Morgan Door. Al was an active member of the VFW Post 1908 and was an extremely dedicated member of the United Veterans Honor Guard. He also greatly enjoyed bike riding, reading, the Bob and Tom radio show, time spent in Crivitz at the cabin and time spent with his companion cat Bob.
He is survived by and his memory will be cherished by a son, David (Toni) Stamborski of Oshkosh; two daughters, Sally (Mehdi) Touihri of Appleton and Jennifer Reinhart of Sheboygan; a brother, Bill (Chris) Stamborski of Fond du Lac; four grandchildren, Keegan, Connor, Parker and Carter. He is further survived by other relatives and friends, his United Veterans Honor Guard family and friend Debbie Zarter.
Funeral services for Al will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Veterans Day, November 11, 2014 in the Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home, 865 S. Westhaven Drive in Oshkosh. Full military honors will follow the service. A time of visitation and support will be held for the Stamborski family at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
