Allen E. Krause's Obituary
Allen E. Krause, age 67, of Oshkosh, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, August 6, 2012. He was born on October 25, 1944 in Milwaukee, a son of the late Henry J. and Gertrude A. (Badziong) Krause. Allen married the former Marilyn J. Reede on June 22, 1969 in Sleepyeye, Minnesota. He attended and graduated from Martin Luther College and then recieved his Masters Degree from the University of Milwaukee in 1973. Allen taught at Siloah Lutheran School in Milwaukee and was the first Principal and helped to build and organize Trinity Lutheran School in Watertown. He then worked as a stock-broker for Dean Witter-Reynolds in Milwaukee after which he accepted a call to Grace Lutheran School in Oshkosh. In 1986 Allen purchased Oshkosh Church Supply, the business is still family operated. For seventeen years, he took tremendous joy in ministering to nursing homes in Oshkosh and held Sunday services at Parkview Health Care Center along with visiting those that were ill or dying. Allen was called as a Staff Minister by WLIM in 2008. He is survived by and his memory will be cherished by his wife, Marilyn; a son, Philip (Stephanie); two daughters, Melanie Milliron and Katelyn Anne Krause, all of Oshkosh; a sister, Jeanette (Gerald) Adams of Milwaukee; two grandchildren, Asah and Cory Hoddel. He is further survived by other relatives and many dear friends. Funeral services for Allen will be held on Sunday, August 12, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. in Martin Luther Ev. Lutheran Church, 1526 Algoma Blvd. in Oshkosh. The Reverends Jeffrey Berg and Daniel Krause will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held at the church on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be made to the Wisconsin Lutheran Institutional Ministries or the WLIM Memorials Scholorship Fund for Katelyn Krause.
