Allen Schuettpelz's Obituary
Allen M. Schuettpelz, age 87, passed away quietly on October 23, 2013 at Bethel Home in Oshkosh. He lived a full, rich life and shared his compassionate heart and guiding influence with everyone he met. Allen was a man of integrity and strength. He was a true outdoorsman and loved fishing, camping, hunting, gardening and, of course, making maple syrup. Allen married Marian Hannes on May 1, 1948 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Oshkosh. They gave meaning to the words “true love.” She preceded him in death on October 26, 2011. He had a long career as an Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor. Allen was born in Suring, WI., on May 1, 1926 the son of the late Emil and Ella (Sasse) Schuettpelz. He was a member of St Jude The Apostle Catholic Church (Sacred Heart worship site).
Survivors include four daughters: Linda (Glenn) Riley, of Iola, WI; Sandi Schuettpelz, Iola; Susan M. (Stephen) Dehne, Oshkosh; Gail Barrett, Oshkosh; one foster son, Michael (Ellen) Safford, Kaukauna; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Harriette Truebenbach, San Jose, CA. two sisters-in-law: Eleanor (Kenneth) Angle and Virginia Hannes, Oshkosh. Allen is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Jean Schuettpelz; four sisters: Iva Luebeck, Helen Schuettpelz, Frieda Guelker, Mabel Tolzman; two brothers: Walter and Gordon Schuettpelz.
A Memorial Mass for Allen will be held on Saturday October 26, at 3:00 PM in St Jude The Apostle Catholic Church (Sacred Heart worship site) with the Rev. William Van DeKreeke officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 2:00 PM until the hour of services.
In lieu of flowers a memorial in his name will be established at a later date.
