Alyssa Jo Furman's Obituary
Alyssa Jo Furman was born on Sept. 19, 1996 to Doug and Samantha Furman in Watertown, WI. She was diagnosed at birth with cystic fibrosis. Throughout her life, despite her health issues, she remained very positive. She always had a smile on her face and helped others see the good in their lives. Alyssa was very giving and, in the end, she gave all she could by being an organ donor.
Alyssa lost her brave fight with cystic fibrosis on Thursday, March 29, 2018 while waiting for a lung transplant.
Alyssa enjoyed hunting and was active in hunter safety. Alyssa harvested her first deer the night before Grandpa Buck died in 2009. Alyssa was a very creative artist with a passion for designing and creating costumes, as well as sculpting, drawing, and 3D modeling. She loved video games and music, composing in her free time.
Alyssa is survived by her parents, a sister, Corrina, and a brother, Ryan. She is further survived by her grandfather R. Sam Williams (Sumrie) and grandmother, Laurie Dunlap. She is survived by Ronald Furman, Jr (Edna); Cindy Lou Schultz and Marilyn Furman along with multiple great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by grandparents Ronald "Uncle Buck" Furman, Sr. and Alice Furman, and grandparent, Gary Dunlap.
The family wishes to thank the University of Minnesota Cystic Fibrosis Center and the University of Minnesota Fairview Hospital.
The visitation for Alyssa will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2018 from 3 pm until 7 pm at the Fiss & Bills Funeral Home at 865 S. Westhaven Drive. Oshkosh, WI 54904
