Amelia Schuhart's Obituary
Amelia Schuhart, age 100, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, December 5, 2021, formerly of Oshkosh, she was residing with her daughter Barbara Van Dyke and her husband Dan for the past 7 years in Darboy, WI. Amelia was the youngest of five children, John Jr., Albert, Pauline, Emma and Ella. She was born in Longmont, CO on March 4, 1921 the daughter of John and Mary (Stugart) Leinweber. Amelia went to school in a one room school house, 1st through 8th grade in Wheatland, WY. She moved to Oshkosh when she was 17. Many years later she met and married William “Lefty” Schuhart on July 10, 1942. They had 53 years together. Amelia was a longtime member at Zion Lutheran Church in Oshkosh, she enjoyed ice fishing, fishing, bowling and gardening.
She is survived by one son, William (Susan) Schuhart of Eureka. Two daughters, Rosemary (Mike) Sammons of Oshkosh and Barbara (Dan) Van Dyke of Darboy. Four grandkids and four great grandkids. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William in October of 1995, and her five siblings.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at 11:30 am at the Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home at 865 S. Westhaven Drive. Oshkosh, WI 54904. Rev. Jeffrey Knoll will officiate. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10 am until the time of service. Private committal services will be held at Riverside City Cemetery.
