Andrea Ann Bednarek's Obituary
Andrea Bednarek, age 68, passed away on March 3,2023 at Edenbrook Oshkosh. She was born on May 2,1954 in Milwaukee, WI to the late Raymond and Dolores Bednarek. She is survived by her siblings Pam (Raymond) Rucinski, Quentin (Sally) Bednarek, and Lance Bednarek. She is also survived by her beloved nieces and nephews: Naletta (Rolando) Sanchez, Jennifer (Roger) Saddy, David (Holly Chen) Rucinski and Julie (Skyler) Witalison, Seanna and Erin Bednarek, and Brian (Brianna) Bednarek. She was so proud of her much-loved grand nieces and nephews: Greyson Burr, Tessa and Lucas Saddy, Nora Eaton, Ella and Maria Witalison, Callie Bednarek. She was preceded in death not only by her parents but also her brother Greg Bednarek.
Andrea grew up in Milwaukee and attended St. Gregory the Great School, then Hamilton High and Waukesha Technical College where she received a degree in Child Care. She went on to become a live-in nanny for several families in both Chicago, IL and in New Jersey where she cared for the same family for over 20 years. When she returned to Oshkosh, Wisconsin she continued her work in childcare at a local day care center.
Andrea volunteered at the local Humane society until she could no longer walk her beloved dogs or take care of her adored feline companion, Jake. While living at Edenbrook, her caretakers became her friends. She eagerly participated in all activities available, especially Christmas which was her favorite time of year.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Andrea at 11 am on Saturday, March 25, 2023 in St. Raphael’s Catholic Church, 830 S. Westhaven Drive. A time of visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of Mass. Burial will follow at a later date at Riverside Cemetery in Oshkosh. Fiss & Bills-Poklasny is assisting the family.
The family is grateful for the attentive care Andrea received at Edenbrook where she felt like she was home among friends.
