Anita Jaksich's Obituary
ONLINE Memorial:
Greetings to all;
This is my attempt to reprise some of the important thoughts & experiences concerning moms 98 yr.s of life, albeit only just a few highlights, as you well might understand.
Anita's family meant everything to her, she would often say, "I'm so fortunate to come from good stock" : Starting with her grandma Gazella {deceased} who not only taught her the "Hail Mary" in Polish but pinned on her the nickname "Pets" which has lasted even to this day.
Stanley and Helena Blasky, parents {deceased}; siblings Raymond[Joyce] B.and Lucille[Joe J.] {deceased}, and other close family members, Stasha, [Aaron], and Mirinka {deceased}. Even now, with the current Marinette surviving generations, she loved them greatly, as she also believed they too, are good stock: Jeanne B. , Jim B. , John & Beth & Maggie B., Sandy W., and Mary Lou F. {deceased}.
Another light of her life was the clan of Sophie & Carl Ungurean, an in-law family from Ohio.
Anita enjoyed her employment at the Records office within the Registrar's dept. at the University of Wi. > Oshkosh.
She loved to go to work everyday saying "I love my job and my coworkers." She retired at 70 yr.s old and participated in 3 retirement parties as she was known as a great "hugger". Afterwards she joined and was a member in good standing with the monthly U.W.O. retirement breakfast club held at Perkins restaurant.
Anita had a penchant for people:
Among her favorite activities was meeting and greeting people anywhere ; especially attending every restaurant in town, to satisfy this desire. Whether traveling in the U.S.A. or Canada, down South or out West, seeing old friends or meeting somebody new :
Anita had a penchant for people.
Among her passions were sports, she would regale me often with her exploits as a young athlete.
Her eyes would light up at the start of each Packer season along with the mandatory weekly No.10, $5.00 football pool card, just for the two of us. Other great attractions for her, were to watch the girls softball games on t.v., figure skating competitions , along with all the summer/winter olympic events.
She was musically inclined, participating in piano recitals at 6yr.s of age.
Mainly, she loved to dance, especially to all the many bands that we employed throughout those 28 yr.s, and she was in 7th heaven, when they would invite her to break out her castanets. She has made and kept many, many close friends during this time of her life.
Later in life she met and formed a special relationship with a "silver fox", a gentleman by the name of Mr. Wm. [Bill] Sagar {deceased}, along with his 2 wonderful daughters [Vic S. & Linda Z.] and their families. Sharing many good times and get-togethers, and forming special lifetime memories with them all, throughout those many yr.s, yes, even until this day.
All the while enjoying her adoptive grandkids and especially cherishing her own "grandma bracelet" along with her favorite special made "autographed red blanket ". In short, these 2 families became the apple of her eye !
Anita was a very loyal and dedicated congregant of St. Raphael's church. Attending Mass, donating many hours in service, frequenting her favorite fish fry's and senior picnics. Always having fond memories of interacting with past and present clergy, all staff, and parishioners on a regular basis.
Mom and I are very thankful to all the healthcare employees that serviced her, to her good, in all situations, helping her to achieve 98 yr.s of life : Ascension hospital and staff, E.R., walk-in clinic staff, Eden Meadows staff, visiting nurses and staff, ambulance paramedics and finally......
The 5 star staff at ParkView Health Center Nursing Home, performing the Lord's work daily ; There are no words ; just much appreciation for all their endeavors !
With her million dollar smile,
Anita spent her whole life being an impeccable friend to all, and being a moral compass for me, I owe her my life, in more ways than one.
She is one of the Lord's finest creations and I'm grateful to call her MOM !
I love you Pets ; Farewell.
J
