Arlene J Anklam, age 92, of Oshkosh, died Thursday March 13, 2014 at Eden Meadows in Oshkosh. She was born in Birnimwood WI., on January 26, 1922 the daughter of the late Henry and Iva Damm Steckbauer. Arlene married Harley Anklam on June 10, 1944. He preceded her in death in 1978. She was employed as a bookkeeper at U. S. Motors in Oshkosh until the time of her retirement in 1988. She enjoyed watching the Packers, Brewers, and The Badgers, Football and Basketball teams. Arlene was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oshkosh.
Survivors include one son; James (Peggy) Anklam, of Oshkosh, one brother; Bob Steckbauer, West Bend, eleven grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter. Arlene is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was was preceded in death by one daughter; Carol Hershberger, one sister; June Noe, five brothers; Herbert, Harold, Edward, Edwin, and Leonard Steckbauer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday March 20, at 11:00 AM in St Jude the Apostle Catholic Church (Sacred Heart site) with the Rev Matt Simonar officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park. Family and friends may call at the church on Thursday from 9:30 AM until the hour of services.
