Armand J. Eberhardy's Obituary
Armand J. Eberhardy, age 84, of Oshkosh, passed away peacefully on Sunday
evening, May 6, 2018. He was born on June 29, 1933 a son of the late Joseph P.
Eberhardy and Emma G. (Tempas) Eberhardy. He was a 1951 graduate of Oshkosh
High School and on July 25, 1953 he married the former Donna Jean Slater at St.
Mary's Catholic Church and the marriage was officiated by Armand's uncle, Fr.
John B. Eberhardy. Armand was the Manager of Tower Paint in Oshkosh for many
years working in the industrial and auto body sales. He greatly enjoyed music
and was a member of the choir in high school under the direction of Fred Liest.
Armand also sang in the church choirs under Victor Thieux and sang with the
church guitar choir. Armand liked doing wood-working projects, building many
shelves and cabinets over the years. Gardening, fishing, bow hunting and rabbit
hunting with his dog, Blinker were favorite past times also. He retired from
the US Naval Reserve, honorably after 29 years, having reached the rank of Chief
Petty Officer. In retirement he and Donna traveled to Mexico, Australia, New
Zealand and Hawaii. He and Donna made several antique shopping trips around the
U.S.
Armand is survived by and his memory will be cherished by his children, Tris
Kopacz, Leanne Greenlaw and Paul (Janet) Eberhardy. He is also survived by his
seven grandchildren, Tina, Amy, Edward, Anne, Adam, Ashley, Faith; and a
great-grandson, Bryson. He is also survived by a brother, Richard (Carol) and a
sister-in-law, Mildred (Richard) Harron along with several nieces and nephews.
Armand was preceded in death by his wife Donna; his parents; Donna's parents;
his sister, Rita; brothers-in-law Harold (Butch) SLater, Robert Slater and a
sister-in-law, Blanche Bloechl.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Armand on Saturday, May 12,
2018 at 11:00 a.m. in Most Blessed Sacrament Parish, St. Mary's Catholic Church,
605 Monroe Ave. in Oshkosh with the Rev. Jerome Pastors as celebrant. Burial
will be in Riverside Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held at the church
on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass. The family would like to
express our gratitude to the staff of Aurora Medical Center's ICU, 2nd floor,
Dr. Soni, Dr. Geck and Julie from hospice for their kind and gentle care of
Armand.
