Barbara Jean Binder's Obituary
Barbara Jean (Smithers) Binder, 47, of Oshkosh died Thursday, March 7, 2013 at her home after a courageous battle with colon cancer. She was born December 30, 1965 in Fond du lac to John and Susan (Calhoun) Smithers. On July 1, 1988, she married David Binder at the Holy Angels Catholic Church in West Bend. Barbara was a loving and devoted mother and wife, who always put her family first. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, infectious laugh, and her love of cats. Barbara most recently worked in the credit department at Jansport. She is survived by her husband, David, of Oshkosh. Her children, Stephanie and Andrew Binder, of Oshkosh. Her parents, John and Susan Smithers, of West Bend. Her brother, David (Ruth) Smithers, of Racine and her sister, Mary (Brian) Ogle, of West Bend.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the amazing staff at the Aurora Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic as well as the Visiting Nurse Association for the loving care they provided in the past eighteen months.
Funeral services for Barbara will be Monday, March 11, 2013 at 6pm in the Poklasny Funeral Home, the Rev. Matt Simonar officiating. The gathering for visitation will be at the Funeral Home on Monday from 4pm until the time of services. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to the American Cancer Society.
