Barbara V. "Honey" Binder's Obituary
Barbara V. "Honey" Binder, age 85, of Oshkosh, passed away early Sunday, July 5, 2009 after a short illness at the Bethel Home. She was born on July 10, 1923 in Oshkosh, a daughter of the late Joseph L. and Mary (Woolley) Fisher. She married Michael S. Binder on June 9, 1945 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she was a lifetime member. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, skilled crafter and thoughtful friend who found joy in making her house a home. Honey also lent her prayers or a helping hand to those in need and gave a hug and smooch to everyone. Honey shared her love through gifts from her heart and talented hands. Her memory will be cherished by her husband, Michael of 64 years; three children, David (Marilyn) Binder and Terry (Sandy) Binder, both of Oshkosh, Mary (Charlie) Hirn of Woodbury, Minnesota; a sister, Nancy (Jerry) Davis of Oshkosh. She is further survived by five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, a favorite aunt Tress, other relatives and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Joseph, Donald and Harold Fisher; a granddaughter, Sarah Lynne Binder. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Honey's life will be held on Friday, July 10, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Jude Parish (Sacred Heart Church), corner of Knapp and 6th Street in Oshkosh with the Reverend William Van de Kreeke as celebrant. A time of visitation will be held at the church prior to the Mass from 9a.m. until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in her name.
