BARBARA LICHTENBERG's Obituary
Barbara H. Lichtenberg, age 89, of Oshkosh, died Saturday morning August 20, 2016 at Eden Meadows in Oshkosh. She was born in Manitowoc WI., on October 30, 1926 the daughter of the late Dr. R.W. and Phyllis Johnson Hammond. She was a graduate of Manitowoc High School and the University of Wisconsin – Madison with a degree in History. She married Dean Lichtenberg in Manitowoc on March 27, 1976. He preceded her in death on June 24, 2004. Barbara was a member and former Elder of First Presbyterian Church, former member AAUW, former Member of the PEO Sisterhood and also former member of Board of Family Service.
Survivors include two sons; Robert Hammond Thiel, of Oshkosh, Peter (Maryellen Skan) Wieting Thiel, Minneapolis MN, two stepsons; Eric (Sheree) Lichtenberg, Duncan SC., Greg (Leah) Lichtenberg, Caskell WA., two grandchildren David Lichtenberg, Jennifer Lichtenberg, one sister; Cynthia (William) Beakman, Colorado Springs, CO. Barbara is further survived by many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her sister; Phyllis Schuette.
Funeral services for Barbara will be held on Saturday August 27, at 1:00 PM in First Presbyterian Church in Oshkosh (110 Church Ave) with the Rev. Thomas Willadson officiating. Interment will follow at Lake View Memorial Park. Family and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 12:00 PM until the hour of services. In lieu of flowers, people are encouraged to gift the charity of their choice in Barbara’s name.
