Barbara J Peterson's Obituary
Barbara Jane Peterson, age 79 of Oshkosh, passed away Monday morning, September 24, 2018 at home surrounded by her family.
Barb was born on July 15, 1939 in Oshkosh, the daughter of Hobart & Lenora (Dunn) Griswold. On April 11, 1959, she was married to Merwayne Peterson. She spent most of her working years in the laundry room at the care center on Bowen Street.
Besides sitting around visiting and playing games with family, some of her favorite things to do was watching parades, putting together puzzles and listening to her music as loud as she could.
Barb is survived by her children: Wanda (Bill) Felker, Linda (Brian) Dreyer, DuWayne (Brenda) Peterson, Tim (Belinda) Peterson, and Doug (Kris) Peterson; her grandchildren: Jamie (Jon), Stephan (Donna), Josh (Brittany), Adam, Greg (Michelle), Alei, Tim Jr. (Andrea), Hannah (Jesus), Matt, Zach (Kaci), Nick (Abi), Morgan (Nick), Mitchell (Summer) and Alyx; her great grandchildren: Brandon, Adrian, Vance, Hoyt, Skyla, Hazel, Auschwin, Charlotte, Esteban & Ruthie; her brothers Lyman (Pam) and Ronald; many nieces and nephews, friends from Mike’s Place, and her furry companion Bear.
She was preceded in death by her husband Merwayne, her parents; sisters: Margaret, Viola, & Vione; brothers: Sylvester, Garrett, Merrill, Robert, Hobart and Earl; grandson Andrew Peterson and great grandson Adrian Williams.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, September 28, 2018 at the Fiss & Bills Funeral Home. 865 S. Westhaven Drive. Entombment will be in Lake View Memorial Park. Friends may greet the family from 4 to 8 p.m., on Thursday, September 27, 2018, and 10 to 11 a.m., Friday in the funeral home.
