Benjamin Timms' Obituary
Benjamin E. Timms, age 93, of Oshkosh, passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2009 at Park View Health Care Center. He was born on July 28, 1916 in Chicago, Illinois, a son of the late Benjamin Vincent and Agnes Timms. He married the former Pearl B. Buss on June 10, 1944. Pearl preceded him in death on February 3, 2006. Ben worked as an Electrical Engineer for many years and had worked locally for Standard-Kollsman in Oshkosh as the Plant Manager. He greatlly enjoyed big band music and was himself a professional musician. After retirement he enjoyed collecting music and traveling all over the United States and Canada with his late beloved wife Pearl.
His memory will be cherished by three sons, Benjamin William Timms of St. Francis, Minnesota, Donald Robert (Connie) Timms of Huntsville, Alabama and William Charles (Nancy) Timms of Oshkosh. He is further survived by six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends and special niece, Marilyn Carol (Tom) Norberg and special friend of the family Polly Archer. He was preceded in death by a sisters, Estelle and Marilyn.
Funeral services for Ben will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. in Peace Lutheran Church in Oshkosh, where he was very active with the Reverend Timothy Greenwald officiating the service. Cremation will follow. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in his name.
