Joyce Gerdes
Aunt Bea was a great great aunt. We loved coming to the farm for gatherings. Except when she made us go out and pick mustard in the field. :). I remember when i was a child of about 10-12 she left me make Jello for a meal. She had a bowl of crushed nuts next to it and I was so proud to make Jello and I proudly put the nuts in the Jello. Bea just smiled and said "that's ok, we'll eat it and enjoy it." Nuts didn't taste good in it but she was nothing but encouraging. I loved being in the kitchen with her.
PS: The obituary was beautifully written. I vow to take time to visit each of my six cousins in the various parts of the states. Bea would love to know that we all continue to keep in contact. Love to each and every one of you. Joyce Gerdes (Brazeau)
