BERNARD "BERNIE" MICHAEL BAUER's Obituary
Bernard M. Bauer, “Bernie” Bauer, age 63, of Oshkosh, found peace on December 30, 2017 at his home in Oshkosh. He was born in Oshkosh on September 2, 1954 the son of the late Joseph and Myrtle Hafemeister Bauer. He graduated from Lourdes High School and attended the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. Bernie married Laurie Schmidt on January 21, 1998. He spent his professional years in Oshkosh and Appleton in the insurance, restaurant, (Robbin’s, Butch’s, and Vitale’s) tax preparation, appraisal and real estate areas. Bernie was the owner operator of Bauer Tax Preparation and Bernie Bauer Real Estate Services. He enjoyed sports, cars, pool and music. Watching his sons’ activities was his favorite past time. He also enjoyed coaching in the Club 6 1/2 Youth Softball program.
Bernie is survived by his wife; Laurie Bauer, of Oshkosh, two sons; Aaron Bauer, Oshkosh, Adam (K.C. Mayotte) Bauer, Oshkosh, two daughters; Karina (Brad Boese) Simons, Milwaukee, Annie Simons, Los Angeles, CA., two grandchildren; Noel Arthur Boese, Hadley Grace Boese, three brothers; Jerome (Judy) Bauer, Oshkosh, Greg (Pat) Bauer, Oshkosh, Joe Bauer, Green Bay, and one sister; Dione (Gerald) Gunther, Oshkosh. Bernie is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Bernie was preceded in death by one sister-in-law; Kris Trudell and other beloved relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Bernie will be held in the Poklasny Funeral Home on Saturday January 13, at 3:30 PM with the Rev. William Van deKreeke officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 2:00 PM until the hour of services.
In lieu of flowers memorials have been established to reflect Bernie's skill at coaching: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Milwaukee Inc. and Camp Lakota, a diabetes camp for Children in Rosholt WI
