Betty A. Berndt-Pollack's Obituary
Betty Ann Bahlke was born on January 6th, 1930, in Milwaukee, WI. Her Father was a Milwaukee police officer who died on duty when Betty was three. Her Mother passed when she was nine. Upon her mother’s passing she lived with her older sisters until being placed with Bernice and Rev. Walter Strohschein in Princeton, WI. Betty graduated from Campbellsport HS and then attended college at UW-Whitewater and UW-Oshkosh. She earned Associates Degrees from UW-Oshkosh in Education and later in Library Sciences.
Betty enjoyed helping others and was employed as a teacher in the Oshkosh school system and later as a librarian in the Rosendale, WI, school system. She married Robert Berndt in Dubuque, IA. Together, they raised four sons in Oshkosh, WI.
Betty was later remarried to Bill Pollack and quickly adapted to life on the farm with the Pollacks. Both husbands preceded her in death.
Betty loved to read and spread that love to countless individuals she positively impacted through the years. She loved children, knitting, singing, dancing the polka, and likely organizing a game of sheepshead with some old friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Robert and Frieda Bahlke, Husband; Robert Berndt, Husband; Bill Pollack, Sisters; Mildred, Edna, and Lucille, and one son; Rob.
Betty is survived by three sons; Bruce (Kathy), Russ (Denise), Bryan (Shannon), daughter-in-law; Roxie, grandchildren; Becky, Jason, Jordon, Logon, Taylor, Allyson, Grace Margret and Annie Rose, great-grandchildren; Sydney, Collin, Millie, Mason, Aubree, Elijah and Landon.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday April 15, 2023 at Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home (865 S. Westhaven Dr. Oshkosh, WI). A time of visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
