Beverly McCarthy's Obituary
Beverly Ann McCarthy, age 74, of Oshkosh passed away on Thursday morning April 11, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh. She was born in Ladysmith, WI on September 18, 1938 the daughter of Glen and Mildred F. (Douscette) Cram. She married Darryl McCarthy on November 1, 1958 in Berlin, WI. Beverly is survived by her husband Darryl McCarthy of Oshkosh. One sister; Nora Jean (Tony) Markowski of Hudson, WI and sister-in-law; Doris Cram of Thiensville, WI. She is also survived by: sister and brothers-in-law; Burleigh and Cheryl McCarthy; Betty Losse; Dennis McCarthy, Galena, IL; Vern Kienast; Faye McCarthy and Bruce Miller, Phoenix, AZ. Also close nephews; Guy (Shawn) Miller; Chad Miller, Phoenix, AZ; niece; Patsy (Leon) Larson and a good friend; Judy Britton. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister; Laura Belle (Lester) Hraban; two brothers; Glen Cram and Donald (Evelyn) Cram. Bev was employed at Wisconsin Bell and later Lucent for over 45 years. She was a member of the Telecom Pioneers and has served as chairman for programs sales at EAA for 35 years. She served on the Cerebral Palsy of Mideast Wisconsin Board of Directors for 32 years and was recognized as Cerebral Palsy of Mideast Wisconsin Volunteer of the year by the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation in 2011. Was elected the first female president in 1986. Served on many committees as chairperson most recently Fundraising, Programming and Nominating. Emceed Annual Dinner for more than 12 years. She served as the President of the Altrusa International Club of Oshkosh for 2 years and was on various committees. She was the Founder of Altrusa's Art in the Garden Annual Event and Founder of Harvest Moon Madness Event. She presently serves as membership chairperson for Altrusa District Seven serving 7 states and 1 province in Canada. She was a member of the Women's Division of Oshkosh Area, she volunteered at Oshkosh Area United Way. Bev enjoyed and was a lucky gambler at area casinos and in Las Vegas. Bev was always on the go, tirelessly helping friends and family in anyway possible. Bev was a joyful person who wanted others to share in her fun. Funeral services for Bev will be held at the Fiss & Bills Funeral Home at 865 S. Westhaven Drive. Oshkosh, WI 54904 on Saturday April 20, 2013 at 11am. Rev. John A. Worzala Dumke will officiate. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 9am until the time of service. Private committal services will be held. A special thank you to the loving caregivers at Eden Meadows who told the family it was fun to go to work when Bev was there. Thank you also to the ICU and Palliative care staff at Mercy Medical Center. In Lieu of flowers memorials should be directed to: Cerebral Palsy of Mideast Wisconsin, Dairyland Club of Telecom Pioneers and Altrusa Club of Oshkosh(Acorn Account).
