Beverly Rose Pistohl's Obituary
Beverly Rose ”Bev” Pistohl, age 87 of Oshkosh, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center. She was born on June 9, 1927 in Oshkosh a daughter of the late Frank and Beatrice (Young) Ratchman. She married Gordon Lyle Pistohl on September 3, 1949 in Oshkosh. Bev was a longtime member of St. Vincent Catholic Church and the Christian Women and was a member of the Young at Hearts Senior Group. She had worked for Miles Kimball and had worked for the Hoppe family caring for their children. She greatly enjoyed cooking, fishing with her husband and son and caring for her family. Bev also found great contentment and happiness in their retirement years spent on Lake Winnebago. She had a great lifetime of love, family, laughter, gardening, dancing, fishing, music, storytelling, gambling and making sure everyone was fed!
She is survived by and her memory will be cherished by a son, David (Marla) Pistohl of Oshkosh; a daughter, Bonnie (Gary) Schmitt of Wheaton, IL; a brother, Robert Ratchman of Oshkosh; a sister, Gerry Hill of Oshkosh; a brother-in-law, Jay Pistohl of Oshkosh; three grandchildren, Paul (Meredith) Schmitt, Kristy (Chris) O’Neil, Neil (Carly) Schmitt; great-grandchildren, Evelyn Marie Schmitt, Reagan O’Neil, Kailey O’Neil, Carter Schmitt and Quinn O’Neil; she is further survived by a “special daughter #2”, Kathy Marheine. She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 65 years, Gordon; an infant brother, Robert; a sister-in-law, Joyce Ratchman, a brother-in-law, Richard Hill and a sister-in-law, Sue Pistohl.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Beverly on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Jude Parish, St. Vincent Catholic Church, the corner of Oregon St. and W. South Park Avenue in Oshkosh. The Rev. Matt Simonar as celebrant. A time of visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. Inurnment will be in Lake View Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established.
