Beverly Kathryn Wintheiser's Obituary
Beverly Kathryn Wintheiser was born July 11, 1931 in Milwaukee, WI. She graduated from Marquette University with a B.A. degree in Early Education. She taught in elementary school briefly but enjoyed teaching continuing education classes later in life. She adored poetry and was an avid reader and writer. Her interest in antiques led to a retirement hobby and a cookie cutter collection that led to many sweet memories at the holidays. Being a lifelong resident of Wisconsin, she enjoyed a good brandy old fashioned with friends and family. She met her husband, Tom, when they were cast opposite each other in a high school play their sophomore year. After 7 years of dating, they were married on August 22, 1953 and have spent 72 wonderful years together. She lived a beautiful life with Tom, including multiple trips to Europe, cruises in the Mediterranean, down the Mississippi River and the eastern seaboard, and many excursions throughout the United States. Their love and commitment to each other is an inspiration to all.
Bev often said her greatest joy was being a homemaker and raising seven children: Paul (Sue), Cathy (Fred) Maslow, Mark (Linda), Carl (Jody), Steve (Robin), Dan (Joan) and Jan (Brian) Bernhardt. She was preceded in death by her son Mark, her brother Harold, and her parents, Nicholas and Clara. She used to laugh and say that her epitaph should be "Charge Ahead!" Her strong, assertive and loving personality was an inspiration to her 7 children, 14 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. She was well loved and will be deeply missed.
Bev died on January 19th, 2026, at the age of 94. The family wants to thank Jessica, Brooke, Ericka and Cathy of Aurora Hospice at Home who were a comfort to Bev and her family. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home. Visitation and funeral service will be at St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church, 830 S. Westhaven Drive, Oshkosh, WI on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 with visitation beginning at 9:30 AM and Mass at 11:00 AM.
