Blanche Davis' Obituary
Blanche G. Davis went to her eternal rest on June 1, 2009 surrounded by her family at Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh, Wisconisin. A celebration of her llife will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2009. Visitation beginning at 1:30 PM with a mass of Christian burial at 3:00 PM at Most Blessed Sacrament (St. Peters site) at 435 High Avenue, Oshkosh with Father Paul Van den Hogan and Father William Van de Kreeke officiating.
Blanche was born in Bear Creek, Wisconsin on January 16, 1919 to Charles and Cecilia (Lyons) Mares. She moved to Elcho, Wisconsin at the age of seven and resided there until her marriage to James Burton Davis on May 15, 1937. In the spring of 1941, Jim and Blanche moved to Oshkosh where they resided until their deaths. Jim and Blanche celebrated fifty-four years together before James death on February 5, 1992.
Blanche is survived by her six children, three sons and three daughters: Dan and Pat Davis,Oshkosh; James (Jerry) and Nancy Davis Oshkosh, Joseph and Kathy Davis, Princeton; Cecilia and Dave Breister, Oshkosh; Marilynn and Stan Breager, Appleton; and Colleen Davis, Cleveland, Wisconsin. Thirty grandchildren, thirty-one great-grandchildren, one special niece, Sister Mary Jerome Wenzel, Sister Jan Stingel and her special cat, Maggie. Grandchildren Linda (Davis) and Tim Lonergan, Jeffrey and Ellen Davis, Scott and Stephanie Davis, Paul and Cathy Davis, Steve and Ardy Davis, Brian and Dawn Davis, Mike and Karen Davis, Greg Davis, Cindy (Davis) and Bruce Beilfuss, Missy (Davis) and Mel Tuchowski, Tim and Nancy Davis, Dr. Jessica (Davis) and Chad Agamaite, Colleen (Breister) and Daniel Bissett, Lisa (Breister) and Andy Hughes, Jim and Kaye Breister, David and Lori Breager, Richard and Alyssa Breager, Rachael ( Breager) and Andy Bauer, Danielle (Daum) Voigt and Jay Daum. Great grand-children Benjamin, Haley, Adam, Katie, Tanner, Abigail, Brianna, Derek, Brayden, Aidan, Caitlin, Marena, Porter, Brendan, Alec, Brianna, Marissa, Kai, Cale, Joseph, Rachael, David, Sam, Emily, Erin, Madeline, Jacy, Dominique, Arianna and Olivia.
Blanche had been active in Cub Scouts, Blue Bird and Campfire Girls, 20th Century Club, and the Aquinas Club of St. Peter Parish.
The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Blaha, the staff at Park View Health Center on Prairieside One- South, and the Emergency and ICU units of Aurora Health Center for their loving care of our mother.
Blanche was proceeded in death by her parents Charles and Cecilia Mares, her sister Antonio (Donna) Wenzel, her brother James Mares and her husband James Davis. Private family intombment will follow at a later date. A memorial has been established to Park View Health Center for Resident Needs.
