Blia Y. Lor's Obituary
Blia Yang Lor, 71, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 12, 2026. She leaves behind a legacy of friendship, strength, resilience, and a deep love for community and family. Born in 1955 in Laos, Blia was the second oldest child and daughter of five children. Her early years of life was shaped by hardship and constant movement due to the war. In spite of life’s challenges, Blia and Neng Lor met and married in September of 1976. While taking refuge at Ban Vinai Refugee Camp, the couple had their first born son and were able to immigrate to the US in October of 1980. They settled in Sheboygan, WI for a few years before resettling in Oshkosh, WI to be closer to family and rebuild their lives. Here, Blia established a life centered around creating a family. It didn’t matter if they were her own kin, a friend from work, church, or community member, she treated them all with love and care. She was often sought after for her seamstress talents, her green thumb in gardening, and her tasty kitchen concoctions. She will be deeply missed for the friendships, conversations, and endless wisdom she shared with everyone.
