Dr Carl Cihlar's Obituary
Dr Carl L “Butch” Cihlar Sr., age 76, of Brandon, WI., died Thursday February 27, 2014 after a long battle with an illness. He was born in Oshkosh on September 21, 1937 the son of Karl and Dorothy Gerhardt Cihlar. After marrying his high school sweetheart Delores Ewer, he joined the first U S A F Thunderbirds team which also was a passion in his life. Upon completion of his service and working at Rockwell Standard for many years, his love of learning took him to college where he earned several degrees culminating in a Doctorate in Psychology. Butch also served in the National Guard, where he met his current wife; Lynn Hintz. They where married ten years later on February 14, 2002. Butch had a passion for hunting fishing, and spending as much time possible in the outdoors. In his later years, his wonderful pets, were his loving companions and gave him great joy.
Survivors include his wife; Lynn Cihlar, one daughter; Debra (Gary) Lemieux, one son Carl (Val) Cihlar Jr., six grandchildren; Tanya, Corey, Andrea, Shauna, Erin, Jessica, eight great-grandchildren; Katie, Blaze, Trey S, Drew, Adam, Anthony, Jacob, Liam, three brothers; Gary Lawler, Dana Lawler, Steve Lawler, three sisters; Mary ( Tony) Macklin, Pam (Stan) Meyer, and Sue (Robert) Schimke. Carl is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of forty-six years; Delores Cihlar, parents, step-parents; Karl Cihlar, Vicky Cihlar, Dorothy Lawler, Charles “Red” Lawler, one brother; Michael Lawler, sister-in-law; Sandy Lawler, and one great-grandson; Alexander Williams, and one step-sister; Judy Cihlar.
A celebration of Carl’s life will be held in the Poklasny Funeral Home on Sunday March 9, at 4:00 PM with The Rev Richard Boon officiating. Entombment will be in Lake View Memorial Park. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 PM until the hour of services. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS A MEMORIAL WILL BE ESTABLISHED.
