Carlton Henry Beduhn's Obituary
Carlton Henry “Tuffy” Beduhn, age 82, passed away quietly, quickly and peacefully on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh. He was born at home on July 5, 1933 in Van Dyne, Township of Friendship, Fond du Lac County a son of the late Bruno”Red” and Margaret (Luebke) Beduhn. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Nekimi. Tuffy married the former Diana J. Walske on July 13, 1957. They enjoyed 58 years of marriage. Tuffy graduted from Goodrich High School in Fond du Lac in 1951. He was employed by Harbridge Sheet Metal of Fond du Lac and various other construction firms until his retirement. He was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers International Association Local Union #18. Tuffy also volunteered with the Van Dyne Fire Department in his earlier years. Tuff loved music, especially polkas, waltzes and barbershop harmony. He sang in a quartet, “The Lighthouses” and performed at various functions in the area over the years. He also sang in the choir at the St. John’s Lutheran Church and then later at Divine Savior Lutheran Church in North Fond du Lac where he has been a member for many years. His other interestswere camping with Diana, hunting and most importantly trout fishing. He enjoyed nature in his back yard, feeding birds, deer and turkeys. His passion for trout fishing (brook and browns) on all of his favorite spots on the streams, rivers and creeks and working on their cabin on the Popple Creek near Saxeville with Diana was his dream!!
He leaves in God’s care his wife of 58 years, Diana and his memory will also be cherished by a sister, Joanne Abendroth of Winneconne; a sister-in-law, Rona Beduhn of Oshkosh; nieces, Jan (Ron) Klemm and Joy Konrad (special friend, Ron Knoblauch), Mary Jo (Bob) Poeschl all of Oshkosh; a nephew, Jim (Pam) Beduhn of Sun Prairie; grand nieces, and nephews, Jamie (Brian) Bliske (Claire, Trevor, Taylor), Karri Klemm (special friend Josh Oelke), Lindsay (Lucas) Dahling, Tyler Beduhn, cousins include, Irene (Dave) Jacobs, Mary (Bob) Peterson, Lois (Henry) Stark, Rev. Lee (Margaret) Luebke and Fred Bergman. He is further survived by his church friends, neighbors and many special acquaintances in the Van Dyne and Saxeville areas. Tuffy was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald “Bud” Beduhn, a brother-in-law, Robert “Bizz” Abendroth and a niece Pam Abendroth Tanner.
Funeral services for Tuffy will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at 12 noon in the Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home, 865 S. Westhaven Drive in Oshkosh, with the Rev. Allen Bramstadt officiating. Interment will be in Oaklawn Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. A memorial fund will be established. The family wishes a very sincere thank you to the staff of Westbrooke Manor Assisted Living, Dr. Ammar Alzoubi and his staff and the second floor staff of Aurora Medical Center for all of their care and compassion. Also to Pastor Allen Bramstadt and Pastor Jan Veseth for their visits and prayers and to family friend Tom Goddard for sharing one last brook trout meal with Tuff this past year. “Tuff there is no doubt in any of our minds that when you landed in God’s landing net, he judged you big enough to keep” Love to you from all of your family and many friends!
