Carmene M. O'Rourke's Obituary
Carmene M. O'Rourke, age 87, of Oshkosh, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, May 20, 2012 at her home. She was born on August 28, 1924 in Indiana a daughter of the late Frank and Genevieve (Murray) O'Rourke. Carmene was a Catholic Nun/Sister for most of her life and taught in numerous Catholic School Systems, specializing in mathematics and music. She recieved numerous awards for her teachings. She greatly enjoyed art and music activities.
She is survived by two nephews, Thomas (Grace) Reigh of Oshkosh and Jack (Colleen) Reigh of Texas. She was preceded in death by her siblings. Mass of Chrisitian Burial will be celebrated for Carmene on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Jude Parish, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, corner of Knapp St. and 6th Avenue in Oshkosh. The Rev. Fr. William Van DeKreeke will celebrate the mass. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of mass. Burial will follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. The family would like to thank Affinity Visiting Nurses for their care of Carmene during her illness, and also to all who cared and prayed for her during her illness.
