Carol Jean Farvour's Obituary
Carol J. Farvour, age 73, passed away Sunday afternoon at Froedtert St. Joseph’s Hospital in West Bend after a long battle with lung cancer and heart failure. Carol was born October 26, 1944 in Fond du Lac to Louis and Betty (Gratton) Pickart. She grew up on the family farm south of Oshkosh. While growing up on the family farm she went to Oshkosh high school and she attended St. Vincent Catholic Church. After high school, Carol married Jack Farvour at St. Vincent’s Catholic Church on January 8, 1966. They were married for 52 years and spent their life together in the Oshkosh area. Carol dedicated her life to her family and extended family. She was a loving wife, mom, grandma, and great grandma. Carol enjoyed spending time with her loved ones, cooking, going to the senior center, and playing bingo. She was also a devoted member of St. Jude Parish in Oshkosh and lived her life through her strong catholic beliefs.
Carol is survived by and her memory will be cherished by her husband; Jack Farvour, son; Jack (Jen) Farvour Jr., daughter; Donna (Cedric) Johnson, brothers; Louis “Mike” (Sandra) Pickart, James (Julie) Pickart, and John Pickart, grandchildren; Jack Farvour III, Michael Farvour, Jeffrey Farvour, Juliana Farvour, Carrie Laatsch, Jaclyn Laatsch, and Elizabeth Laatsch, great grandchildren; Keaton Farvour and Theodore Schiessl, and brother-in-law; Norbert Gray.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents; Louis and Betty Pickart, sister; Lois Gray (Pickart), many aunts and uncles, and in laws; Alfred and Violet Farvour.
The Mass of Christian Burial for Carol will be held on Thursday April 5, 2018 at 11 am in St. Jude Parish (Sacred Heart) located at 519 Knapp Street Oshkosh, WI 54902. Father Matt Simonar will be the celebrant. A time of visitation will be held from 9:30 am until the time of Mass on Thursday at the church. The burial will be held after the Mass on Thursday at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Carol will be remembered and honored for her wonderful sense of humor, compassion, easy going nature, the sacrifices she made for her loved ones, and the simple kindnesses she shared with everyone she encountered.
The family would like to thank the ICU nurses and staff at Froedtert St. Joseph’s Hospital who put there heart and soul into trying to save her.
Carol was a one of a kind woman who will never be forgotten and she will be deeply missed.
