Carol Ann Hubbard's Obituary
Carol Ann Hubbard, age 82, of Oshkosh, found peace January 26, 2023, at Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh. Carol was born August 29, 1940, in Batavia, NY, the daughter of Conrad and Lauretta (Henning) Gould. Having moved East from Milwaukee, her parents returned to Wisconsin when Carol was a young girl. She was baptized in the Christian faith and confirmed May 9, 1954, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brillion, WI. She graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1958. Carol married David T. Hubbard, her high school sweetheart, April 29, 1961, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Oshkosh. He preceded her in death January 5, 2000. Over the years, Carol worked in classified advertising at the Oshkosh Northwestern and the Tacoma (WA) News Tribune and later as a switchboard operator for the Oshkosh Northwestern and as clerical support in the shipping department at Hoffmaster. She also worked seasonally in the drop/ship department at Miles Kimball and volunteered as a docent at the EAA Museum for 18 years. Carol was a 60-year member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She enjoyed sharing her life experiences with anyone she met. She loved to travel and spend time with her family, especially camping trips with her husband, children and grandchildren. She was an avid reader. Her collections included cruets, pewter figurines, and Beanie Babies. Carol was an unwavering caregiver for her mother and Dave, making sacrifices out of love for them which ultimately took a physical toll on her. Despite health problems in recent years, she maintained a cheerful disposition and always managed to support and encourage others. She was a strong person and extremely proud of her family.
Carol is survived by and her memory will be cherished by her sons: William (Wendy) Hubbard of Oshkosh and Jeffrey (Tammy) Hubbard of Myrtle Beach, SC, as well as four grandchildren: Jason, Christy (Marty), Zachary, and Jacob (Cassidy), and three great-grandchildren: Colton, Levi, and Violet. She is further survived by nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister: Arlene (Bill) Tuggle, sisters-in-law: Marguerite (Connie) Feuerhelm and Joan Hubbard, brother-in-law: Elbert (Shirley) Hubbard, and her dog Rusty.
Funeral services for Carol will be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at 11:00 am in Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1206 Ontario Street in Oshkosh. Burial will follow the service in Lake View Memorial Park Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 9 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the ALS Association.
