Carol S. Kruse's Obituary
Carol Susan Kruse, age 77, of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, died Friday, June 27, 2014, at her home. A funeral service will be held at 5 PM on Sunday, July 6, 2014, at First United Methodist Church, 700 W Linwood Avenue, Oshkosh. A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 6, from 3 to 5 PM at the church. Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Oshkosh on Monday, July 7, 2014 at 8:30 AM.
Carol was born in Oshkosh on November 15, 1936, the daughter of the late Norman A and Margaret Scheiber Mueller. She was married to Robert W Kruse on May 26, 1962, and he preceded her in death on April 1, 2004, just short of 42 years of marriage. Carol worked many years for Avis Rent a Car, owned Economy Auto Rental, was an antique dealer, and conducted estate sales. She especially loved her rescue Dobermans and to garden, bake, and play cards. Carol had a deep love for music and attended many of her grandchildren’s music concerts. She volunteered at her grandchildren’s school and also for the Volunteers of Affinity at Mercy Medical Center. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church, Oshkosh for many years. Over the last few years, Carol had a great affinity for the faith of her childhood, her Catholic faith.
Carol is survived by her children: Cynthia (Steven) Noe of Beaver Dam, Sandra (Thomas) Swartwood of Oshkosh, Michael (Zabel) Miracle of Holmdel, New Jersey, Robert A Kruse of Oshkosh, and stepdaughter Vickie (Kennie) Pack of Weyauwega; and her siblings: Norman D Mueller of Oshkosh, Louise (Ronald) Morrison of Florence, Alabama, Steven (Jeanne) Mueller of Cambridge, Nebraska, and Margaret (Philip) Cox of Hamilton, Missouri. She is survived by 13 grandchildren: Gregory (Amy) Noe, Melissa Noe, Sarah Noe, Carrie (Michael) Schmitz, Father Daniel Schuster, Kathryn (Nicholas) Douglas, Anna (Daniel Halley) Schuster, Elizabeth Miracle, Adam Miracle, Robert D (Sarah) Kruse, Erin (Martin) TeLindert, Jamie Kruse, and Jeremiah Kruse, and additionally 5 step-grandchildren: Jennifer (Steve) Boulton, Terry R Kruse Jr, Kenneth Kruse, Tamara (Jeff) Hertlein, and Keith Gowdy. Carol is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her granddaughter Alexandra Rose Miracle, her sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Larry Vesperman, her stepson, Terry R Kruse and his wife, Gail Kruse.
Funeral services for Carol will be held on Sunday, July 6, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. In First United Methodist Church, 700 Linwood Avenue in Oshkosh. Pastor John Hobbins will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Oshkosh. A time of visitation will be held at the church on Sunday from 3:00 p.m until the time of service.
A memorial has been established to “Mercy Health Foundation” for hospice volunteer services through Mercy Medical Center; and to “Volunteers of Affinity” at Mercy Medical Center.
