Catherine (Cathy) Geraldine Kent Chomo's Obituary
Catherine (Cathy) Geraldine Kent Chomo passed away peacefully, January 25th at home in Oshkosh in the arms of her Husband after a valiant 3 year battle with Cancer, she was born on February 19th 1956 in Milwaukee Wisconsin to the late Clifford and Florence Kent.
Cathy is survived and dearly missed by her Loving Husband Chris of 37 years, her son and Daughter in law, Michael C. Kent (Cassandra), Sister In Law Rebecca Kent.
Her Memory lives on in her nephews and nieces, Jane, Shawn and Anita, Darrin and Jill, Kevin and Beth, Keith and Crystal and her great nephews and nieces, Dolan and Liam, Noah, Morgan and Alec, Olivia and Ava, Spenser and Sophia.
Cathy was preceded in death by her parents Clifford and Florence Kent and brother Clifford "Skip" Kent.
Cathy was born in Milwaukee and moved to Oshkosh with the Experimental Aircraft Association where she Loved working in the Merchandising Department and retired from there after 25 years as Chairman Of Merchandising in 2006. Along with her career at EAA she also enjoyed antiques and collectibles starting her own store, The Cat's Meow Antiques and Collectibles and later as CKentLtd in the Mall of Originals, Oshkosh. She Loved to find treasures and had an eye for unique finds and found close friends along the way both in businesses she worked with and the people she met. She also Loved gardening and in her retirement she found joy working outside in the gardens both in Oshkosh and at her lake house on Moccasin lake in Elcho WI. She delighted in spending time on a girls day out with her Daughter-in-Law Cassie shopping and hanging out with her "Daughter" or with her "Sister" Becky on a trip to Millagers in Milwaukee. She was so proud of her son Mike and shared her love of baseball, basketball and football with him as well as their unique artistic talents and appreciations. She was an avid fisher-woman and often out fished Chris up at the lake and she would never pass up a chance to run out to the casino, she loved her trips to the casinos in Milwaukee, Green Bay or "Up North". She also deeply loved her pets, especially her dear cats of which Mitchel and Miles remain to help take care of Chris.
Cathy had a 3 year battle with Triple Negative Breast Cancer and she fought it with such courage and strength, it was awe inspiring, she loved the Doctors and Nurses at the Michael D. Wachtel Cancer Center,Oshkosh as well as her care team from Heartland Hospice who helped her make it back home. She often expressed her feelings of not wanting people to feel sorry for her, or to feel badly for her, she Loved her Family, her friends, co-workers and her pets so very much.
Celebration of life services will be held Monday February 3rd from 9:00am to 11:00am at Poklasnys Funeral Home 870 W. South Park Ave, Oshkosh Wisconsin and then on Wednesday February 5th from 9:30am to 11:30am at Rozgas Funeral home 703 W Lincoln Ave, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with the burial following at Saint Adalbert's Cemetery 3801 South 6th Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
