Cecilia Esther Baier's Obituary
Cecilia E. (Mars) Baier age 91 of Oshkosh. The time has come to say goodbye for now to our beloved Mother, Grandmother, and GreatGrandmother. She was welcomed into Heaven with her family by her side on Saturday May 5th 2018. Cecilia was born in Loyal WI. on July 14th, 1926 to Horace and Mary (Peters) Mars. Together the family later moved to Kimberly WI. Sadly when she was just 3 years old her Father passed away. Cecilia was raised along with her 4 sisters by her loving Mother. In High School she played in the marching band. After graduation Cecilia moved to Oshkosh and attended Mercy Hospital School of Nursing where she became an X-ray technician. While working at Mercy Hospital she caught the eye of Arthur Baier who was visiting his sister who had broken her leg. Cecilia and Arthur married on May 17, 1947 and were married for 58 years. Cecilia in her loving way took excellent care of Arthur until he passed in 2006. Although Cecilia gave up her career to raise her family, she continued to work hard to make the best life for them. She worked right along with Arthur as they remodeled a home and a cottage. She sewed beautiful clothing and was creative with a variety of crafts and home decor. She truly could do it all and was an excellent example for her children instilling the value of hard work and dedication. After her family was grown she enjoyed spending time with her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren and occasionally visited the casino to try her luck.
Cecilia is survived by her son Michael (Stephanie) Baier, Daughters Debra (Alan) Heidl and Bonnie Beck. Grandchildren Jason (Ani) Heidl, Katie (Mike) Berndt and Danielle Beck. Great Grandchildren Finley and Jillian Heidl and Ella and Mason Berndt.
Cecilia was preceded in death by her husband Arthur, one son Arthur (Archie) Baier and daughter in law Paula Baier. Her four sisters Margaret (Joe), Elizabeth (Adrian), Esther (Kenny) and Lorraine.
The family will hold a celebration of Cecilia’s life on Thursday May 10th, 2018. Visitation beginning at 4:00 pm with a service at 5:30 pm. Deacon John Ingala officiating at Fiss & Bills Poklasny Funeral Home located at 870 W South Park Avenue.
The Family would like to thank the caregivers that assisted and cared for Cecilia over the past 23 months. We truly could not have done it without you.
