Charles " Charlie" Hoessel's Obituary
Charles B. "Charlie" Hoessel, age 79, of Oshkosh, passed away on Monday, March 12, 2012 at Northpoint Medical and Rehabilitation. He was born on April 18, 1932 in Cedarburg, Wisconsin a son of the late Helmuth H. and Edith (Wicht) Hoessel. Charlie proudly served his country in the US Army in Korea, having recieved the Purple Heart Medal. He was Past Commander of the VFW Post 1908, American Legion Last Man Club, Military Order of Cootie and was a member of First English Lutheran Church. He had worked for and retired from Rockwell International. Charlie greatly enjoyed the Green Bay Packers, fishing and traveling. His memory will be cherished by a son, Jeffrey (Kim) Hoessel of Roscoe, IL and a daughter, Julie (Dale) Gantner of Oshkosh; a sister, Lois Bowman of Oshkosh; four grandchildren, Jennifer, Amy, Jamie and Madison Hoessel. He is further survived by a niece, three nephews, other relatives and many very dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a niece. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, March 15, 2012 in the Lake View Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel, in Oshkosh. The Reverend Tim Greenwald will officiate. A time of visitation will be held on Thursday at the chapel from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
