Charles D. "Chuck" Steinert's Obituary
Charles D. "Chuck" Steinert, age 79, of Oshkosh passed away on Monday evening February 15, 2016 at his residence. Chuck was born in Oshkosh on February 22, 1936 the son of Charles and Julia (Sosnoski) Steinert. Chuck married Joyce Pohl on June 11, 1955 at St. John's Catholic Church in Oshkosh. Chuck was employed at the Oshkosh Sausage Co for 15 years, then employed as a Firefighter for the city of Oshkosh for 30 years. He also worked part time for Sterling Gardens delivering flowers. Chuck is survived by his wife Joyce Steinert of Oshkosh. Three sons; Chuck (Carol) Steinert, Jr of Hortonville, WI, Chris Steinert and Craig (Lisa) Steinert all of Oshkosh. Two daughters; Cindy (Jim) Knaggs and Cathy Steinert all of Oshkosh. One brother; Jeff (Vicki) Steinert of Oshkosh. Two sisters; Karen (Randy) Domer, Lois (Neil) Knaggs all of Oshkosh. Five grandchildren; Zach (See) Knaggs, Danille Knaggs, Jarryd, MacKenzi and Morgan Steinert. Three great grandchildren; twins Evan and Ryan Knaggs and Benjamin Knaggs. One sister-in-law; Sharon (Gib) Werner of Oshkosh. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, one sister; Betty Konopa and her son Lee. Memorial services will be held on Monday, February 22, 2016 at 6pm at the Fiss & Bills Funeral Home at 865 S. Westhaven Drive. Oshkosh, WI 54904. Father Edward Looney will officiate. Visitation will be held on Monday at the funeral home from 3pm until the time of service. Private family committal services will be held. In Lieu of flowers memorials should be directed to Lourdes Academy at 110 N. Sawyer St. Oshkosh, WI 54902, Salvation Army at 417 Algoma Blvd. Oshkosh, WI 54901 and St. Raphael's Catholic Church at 830 S. Westhaven Drive. Oshkosh, WI 54904.
