Charles C. Wilson's Obituary
Charles C. Wilson, age 90, of Oshkosh, passed away on September 4, 2021 at Evergreen in Oshkosh. He was born in Allen NE., on February 17, 1931 the son of the late Clarence and Flossie Chase Wilson.
In his youth, Charlie developed a love for restoring cars. His first car was a model T coupe which he purchased for $10.00. This hobby continued throughout his life as he restored over thirty cars of different makes and models.
Charlie graduated from the University of Nebraska with a Phd in Educational Psychology and Secondary Education. He taught at various high schools and colleges in Nebraska, Kansas, and Missouri before retiring after twenty-nine years from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
He loved to travel, both in the United Sates and over seas. It was on a trip to Greece where he met his wife Joanne Johnson. He was amused by the fact that the date of their marriage was the first time he had to miss the Jefferson Swap Meet.
Charlie served his country in the U.S. Army as a Corporal during the Korean Conflict. Charlie is survived by his wife; Joanne Wilson, of Oshkosh, one sister-in law; Lynn Larson, Parker CO., one brother-in law and one sister-in law; Al, Janet Johnson, Atlanta GA. Charlie is further survive by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother; Al (Philena) Wilson, and one sister; Lois (Johnny) Self.
In keeping with Charlie’s wishes a private memorial will be held at a later date.
