Clifford L. Carstensen's Obituary
Clifford L. Carstensen, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away at the Bethel Home on Friday, August 9, 2013. Cliff was born on August 7, 1931 to the late Louie and Irene Carstensen. He married the former Theresa Hammond on August 1, 1953, she preceded him in death on September 15, 1998. Cliff's career started with Gishold Manufacturing, Cook Coffee, Selling Electrolux Vacuum Cleaners. His favorite job out of any he may have done was working at Bob & Kay's Tastefreeze, and later Bob & Kay's Drive Inn. Cliff enjoyed telling jokes, talking to anyone that he met, making people laugh, cribbage and most of all spending time with his family and friends.
Cliff will be deeply missed forever by his son, Michael (Janet) Carstensen; daughter, Jill (Terry) Smith; four grandchildren, Eric, Kyle, Ryle and Ashley; two great-granddaughters, Payton and Faith. Cliff is further survived by four sister-in-laws, Barbara Lechnir, Kay (Bob) Christensen, Helen Michalek and Peggy Fullmer; a brother-in-law, Joe (Gigi) Hammond, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa; father and mother-in-law, Bill and Margaret Hammond; two brother-in-laws, Bruce Hammond and Gerry Michalek; niece, Jodi Lechnir; nephew, Christopher Buchholz; sister, Vivian and her husband, Martin Damon.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Monday, August 12, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. in the Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home, 865 S. Westhaven Dr. in Oshkosh. A time of visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service. The family would like to thank all of the nurses, caregivers and staff for the care and tenderness that you gave our Dad while he was on the dementia unit at Bethel Home. Dad- Your laugh infectious, your smile contagious, will live on through all that love you. THANK YOU FOR BEING OUR DAD!!!!!
