Colleen Carol Marquardt's Obituary
On Wednesday, October 3, 2018, Colleen Marquardt, wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and Tante passed away at the age of 54 years. Colleen will be forever remembered by her husband and best friend, Michael, their precious children, Erika (Ryan) Wilson, Samantha Marquardt and Alec Marquardt, and beloved dogs, Sonoma and Gracie. Her grandchildren, Trevor, Cooper and Allyson and by her parents, Richard (Dick) and Carol Butula of Germantown, WI, also by sisters and brother, Betty (Bob) Streng, Nancy (Jim) Whalen, and Andy (Shannon) Butula. Colleen will also be forever remembered by her numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
After graduating from the University of Milwaukee, she entered the world of computer programing, taking her around the world on numerous assignments and later starting her own Consulting business operating CCB Consulting. Consulting also introduced her to Mike, which led to their wonderful life together. Colleen’s love of boating with family and friends, her love of golf, her love of wine, travel and music, and her love of marathons, walking with friends, shined throughout her life’s journey.
Laughter, joy, happiness is how we all will remember her. Family and friends were the most important thing in her life. Rules she always would repeat to us are “Everything takes longer than you think” and “You don’t know what you don’t know”. Colleen will truly be missed, but our memories will live forever.
A visitation to greet friends and family to be held on Saturday October 13, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Fiss and Bills Poklasny Funeral Home, 865 S. Westhaven Drive, Oshkosh, WI 54904, followed by a celebration of life led by her nephew Ben Whalen, Youth Minister.
We would like to give a special thanks to Dr. David Kushner and his amazing surgical staff at UW Health, Dr. Karen Gremminger and the caring professional staff at Thedacare Oncology Center and the compassionate team at Thedacare at Home/Cherry Meadows. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Caring Bridge or Ovarian Cancer Research.
