Cory Allan Stang's Obituary
Cory Allan Stang, 42, passed away unexpectedly in his home near the date of July 28, 2026. Born in Oshkosh WI, on February 29, 1984, as a proud leap- year baby to Al and Dawn Stang. He grew up and shared a home as the middle child of his two brothers, Travis (37), and Brett Stang (died at age 29). Cory was previously married to Sylvia Montez, in 2007, and together they welcomed two children, Isaiah (22) and Sierra Stang (18) who remained an important part of his life.
Growing up in a full house with his immediate family, he never missed the chance to four- wheel and dirtbike with his little brother, Travis. He played more sports than he could count on his fingers despite how chaotic it was to juggle every soccer and softball game, swimming meet, and wrestling match— he loved it. Cory wrestled at Oshkosh Mat Rats from the age of five until high school. Since he was young, Cory was known for his outgoing spirit, willingness to make friends with everyone, and always wanting an adventure. Cory graduated from Oshkosh West High School in 2002 before helping his parents manage the family business, Crown Trophy.
In 2008, Cory graduated from Laurel Stone School and shortly began his career in real estate where he thrived for the next years following. He built a successful career as a realtor and became one of the area's top real estate agents. He was talented at recognizing the potential in homes and properties and was truly great at anything he put his mind to. Cory was creative and could transform any idea into reality. He had a vision to remodel an entire house starting from the ground and up. He turned his idea into life with the support and hand of his dad, Al. Them together, made the house into a home where Cory and his family would spend the next 8 years.
Cory found fulfillment in exceeding the walls of his imagination and he always dreamed big. He enjoyed a neverending number of things whether it was golfing, traveling, running half marathons, spending the day on the water, playing tennis, or dedicating time in the garage working on new projects. He was constantly coming up with new methods to use his hands and train his brain and could always be ready for a shopping spree. He absolutely loved to cook. While he may not have been a professional, finding new recipes, always starting from scratch was his forte. He was fearless, and the number one “yes man”.
He is survived by his parents, Al and Dawn Stang, his brother Travis Stang, and his two children Isaiah and Sierra Stang, as well as extended family members and friends. Cory is reunited in death by his brother Brett Stang. Cory’s memories will be passed on through those who were lucky enough to love and know him.

In tribute of Cory, his celebration of life will be on Sunday August 30th from 12 pm to 3 pm at Van Dyne Lion’s Park.
