Daniel Scott Hoffman's Obituary
Daniel Scott Hoffman, age 28, died in his home January 26, 2021, in Fayetteville, NC.
Daniel was born May 29th, 1992, in York, PA to Scott and Stacy (Ackerman) Hoffman. He spent the majority of his childhood in Oshkosh, WI and graduated from Oshkosh Lourdes High School in 2010. Upon graduation, Daniel joined the US Navy where he served four years as an Aviation Specialist aboard the USS George Washington, based in Yokosuka, Japan. It was during this time that he met his future wife, Elizabeth Schroeder.
After the Navy, Daniel attended Dakota County Technical College where he received his Associates degree in electrical line work. Daniel then joined the US Army in 2018 where he became a Staff Sergeant in the 82nd Airborne. Daniel married his wife, Elizabeth (Schroeder) on December 29, 2018 in Dakota Dunes, SD. They celebrated two wonderful years together.
Daniel enjoyed shooting, hiking, and spending time with his wife and their two dogs. His friends and family will always remember him as an adventurous, fun loving young man, who was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Daniel is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; parents Scott and Stacy (Ackerman) Hoffman; sister Sarah Hoffman; brother David Hoffman; father and mother-in-law Allen and Cindy Schroeder; grandparents Susan and Ted Ackerman and Margaret Hoffman; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather William C. Hoffman, Sr.
A visitation and service will be held Saturday, February 13th at Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home 865 S. Westhaven Dr. Oshkosh, WI 54904. Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 2:30 PM and a reception from 3:00 – 7:00 PM will follow at La Sure’s Hall 3125 S. Washburn St. Oshkosh, WI 54904 (adjacent to Cobble Stone Suites Hotel). All are welcome to attend and celebrate Daniel’s life.
