Darryl W. McCarthy's Obituary
Darryl W. McCarthy, age 82, of Oshkosh, passed away on Monday, August 6, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center. He was born on July 18, 1936 in Oshkosh, a son of the late Chester and Esther (Missal) McCarthy. Darryl married Beverly Ann Cram on November 1, 1958. Beverly preceded him in death on April 11, 2013. Darryl worked for many years for the City of Oshkosh Street Dept. and retired as a Street Inspector. He also served in the US Army National Guard. Darryl participated in many car shows and greatly enjoyed NASCAR races. He will long be remembered for his quick dry sense of humor. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by and will be remembered by two brothers, Burleigh (Cheryl) of Oshkosh and Dennis of Galena, IL; a sister, Betty Losse of Oshkosh; also close nephews, Guy Miller and Chad Miller; other nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by brothers, Homer, Merwin, Chester Jr., and sisters, Geraldine Kienast and Gail Miller.
Funeral services for Darryl will be held on Monday, August 13, 2018 at 12 noon in the Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home, 865 S. Westhaven Drive. Entombment will be in Lake View Memorial Park. A time of visitation will be held on Monday at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m until the time of service. The family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses on 2nd floor of Mercy Medical Center for the care given to Darryl. Memorials in his name may be made to the American Heart Association.
