David Bartels' Obituary
David W. "Bart" Bartels, age 49, of rural Oshkosh, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at the Unversity of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison of complications associated with the wait for a liver transplant. He was born on Spetember 23, 1959 in Oshkosh, a son of the late Raymond H. and Susan M. (Miller) Bartels. Dave graduated from Oshkosh North High School and had worked for 23 years at the Oshkosh Truck Corporation and had most recently worked for Quality Truck. He greatly enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR races, golfing, and was a die-hard Packer fan. Dave also enjoyed any time spent with his family and many friends. He was a great father, brother and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
His memory will be cherished by a son, Nicholas David Bartels of Oshkosh; two daughters, Kristen Kaye Bartels of Neenah and Kayla Nicole Bartels of Oshkosh; a brother, Jeff (Mary Ann) Bartels of Oshkosh; three sisters, Diane (Tim) Tyson, Barb Campbell and Pam (Matt) Buhrow all of Oshkosh; a grandson, Andrew Irving Bartels. He is further survived by four nephews, Dane Campbell, T.J. Tyson, Devin Buhrow and Zach Bartels; two nieces, Trista Tyson and Kyra Campbell; a step-nephew, Josh Madsen; a step-niece, Christie Madsen; the mother of his children, Libby (Mosling) Seibold of Oshkosh; other relatives and many very dear friends.
Funeral services for Bart will be held on Friday, August 14, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. in the Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home, 865 S. Westhaven Drive in Oshkosh, with the Reverend Ted Johanson of St. John Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will be in Ellenwood Cemetery. A time of visitation and support will be held for the Bartels family at the funeral home on Friday begining at 4:00 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of floral expressions, a memorial fund will be established in his name. Dave will celebrate his 50 th birthday in heaven with his parents. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the:
