David Bonell's Obituary
David G. Bonell, age 64, of Oshkosh, died Saturday February 1, 2014 at Aurora Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was born in Kenosha WI on March 14th, 1949 the son of Imelda and the late Dr. Blair T Bonell. On August 21, 1971 he was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart; Jamie Gerum at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Kenosha, WI. David received his bachelors of business administration with a double major in management and marketing with a minor in economics from Milton College in 1971. After college he worked in pharmaceutical sales and later in title insurance. David cherished family time up north in Tomahawk were he would enjoy spending time on the lake and hunting in the woods. He also enjoyed his vacations in Florida and travels to Ireland with best friends. An avid sports fan, he loved to golf, play basketball, and was a loyal Packer fan.
David is survived by wife; Jamie Bonell, of Oshkosh children; Kelly (Tim) Hess, Oshkosh, Kori (Bryan) Dorn, Winneconne, one son; Ryan (Andrea) Bonell, Menasha, five grandchildren; Ethan, Kiara Hess, Makenna, Mason, Andrew Dorn, his mother; Imelda Bonell, Kenosha, two brothers; Tom (Cindy) Bonell, Milwaukee, Mike (Marie) Bonell, TN., three sisters; Mary Alice (Lee) Dickerson, CA., Jean (Marty) Burns, Mercer WI., Terry (Richard) Meeker, Kenosha, mother-in-law; Jean Sadlon, Racine, two brothers-in-law; Tom (Deborah) Gerum, Tomahawk, Patrick (Debra) Gerum, Big Bend WI., three sisters-in-law; Mary Jo (Tom) Klappa, Kenosha, Julie (Mark) Osten, Verona WI., and Tina (Doug) Krimmer, Oak Creek. Dave is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Dr. Blair T Bonell, two fathers-in-law; Michael Gerum and Gerald Sadlon.
A memorial Mass for David will be held in Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church (St Mary worship site) on Saturday February 8, at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Jim Jugenheimer officiating. Family and friends may call at the Fiss & Bills Funeral Home (865 S Westhaven) on Friday from 4:00-7:00 PM where there will be a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Family and friends may also call at the church on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until the hour of services.
In lieu of flowers a memorial in his name will be established at a later date.
