David Allan Derksen's Obituary
David Allan Derksen, age 67, of Oshkosh, WI, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born in Waupun, WI on March 11, 1955, the son of Warren and Kathryn (Mulder) Derksen. David was a graduate of Waupun High School and the University of Wisconsin in Madison. On June 26, 1976, David married Paula Beahm at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waupun. David was employed as an actuary at Sentry Insurance in Stevens Point, WI, retiring in 2014. David enjoyed hunting and fishing along with spending time with family and friends.
David is survived by his wife, Paula and their children Carrie (Jeremy) Baumann of Pleasant Prairie, WI and Greg (Erin) Derksen of Dane, WI; seven grandchildren Mathew, Connor, Nolan and Kennedy Baumann and Grant, Evan and Sadie Derksen; siblings Beverly (Dennis) Raatjes of Winneconne, WI, Cal Derksen of New Haven, IN, Dennis (Julie) Derksen of Waupun, WI, and Shirley (Mike) Amato of Waunakee, WI; brothers and sisters-in-law John (Deb) Beahm of Waupun, Brian Beahm of Fitchburg, WI, Jane (Al) Watry of Waupun, and Sue Hansen of Waupun, along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
David was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ken Derksen; mother and father-in-law Mary and Ken Beahm, and brother-in-law David Beahm.
A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 11 am at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church at 830 S. Westhaven Drive, Oshkosh, WI 54904. Father Tom Long will be the celebrant. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 20, 2023 from 4 to 8 pm at the Poklasny Funeral Home at 870 W. South Park Ave. Oshkosh, WI 54902. Additional visitation will take place at 10 am before Mass at St. Raphael’s. Private committal services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
