David J. Doty's Obituary
David Joseph Doty, age 76, of Oshkosh passed away on Tuesday October 27, 2015 at his residence. David was born in Minneapolis, MN on September 14, 1939, the son of Earl and Ann (Jaworski Porter) Doty. He married Rosemarie F. Larson on July 1, 1966 in Stewart, MN. David earned his Master’s degree in Community Education from St. Thomas University. He was a former elementary and middle school teacher in Minnesota and also a counselor at the Hubert H. Humphrey Job Corps Center in St. Paul, MN. He was an author, avid golfer, Vikings football fan, and political enthusiast. He loved people and the church. David knew how to spread cheer and was gifted in talking to strangers of all ages. His warm and loving personality will be greatly missed. David was proud of his children and he adored his grandchildren who lovingly called him Poppy. David is survived by his daughter, Stephanie (Mark) Lattery of Oshkosh, WI; and son, Steven (Sandra) Doty of Granville, OH. He is also survived by his three grandchildren: Gabrielle Marie Lattery, Grant David Lattery, and Matthew Joseph Doty. David was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Rosemarie on October 21, 2013, his brother Jacob Doty, and an infant sister. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Raphael's Catholic Church, 830 S. Westhaven Drive, Oshkosh, WI 54904. Father Doug LeCaptain will be the celebrant. Visitation will be held at the church at 11 am and the Mass will be at 12 noon on Saturday, November 7, 2015.
