David Horejs' Obituary
David L. Horejs, age 71, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 12, 2012 at his property in Adams County, WI. David was born in Oshkosh on December 20, 1940 the son of Alois and Elizabeth (Stadler) Horejs. David married Carol Kiesow on October 10, 1970 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oshkosh. David was employed at Bemis retiring in 2003. He was a faithful member of St. Jude Parish (Sacred Heart Catholic Church). David loved hunting, boating, fishing, trips to the casino and following his grandkids sporting events, he was also an avid packer fan. David is survived by his wife Carol Horejs, one son: Brian (Heidi) Horejs, one grandson: Jacob Horejs, one granddaughter: Halle Horejs all of Oshkosh. Four sisters: Jean (Bill) Mauritz, Pat (Neil) Abitz, Betty Hasse and Lorraine (Norman) Schneider all of Oshkosh. Six sisters-in-law: Judy Kiesow, Mary Horejs, Mary (John) Tyler and Pat Walter all of Oshkosh. Cathy (Charles) Hinze of Watertown and Beverly (Steve) Schink of Kaukauna. Four brothers-in-law: Harold Toshner and Jeff Walter both of Oshkosh. Harry Walter of Madison and Gary (Cheryl) Walter of Ankeny, Iowa. David is also survived by his very special mother-in-law Ruth Walter of Oshkosh. David was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: George, Robert and Roger. One sister: Florence Toshner, brothers-in-law: Bob Hasse and Dave Kiesow. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at 11am at St. Jude Parish (Sacred Heart Church on the corner of 6th & Knapp). Father William Van De Kreeke will be the celebrant. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at the Fiss & Bills Funeral Home @ 865 S. Westhaven Drive in Oshkosh, WI from 4pm until 7pm. Visitation also on Wednesday at the church from 10am until the time of Mass. Committal services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. David's family would like to send a special thanks to the Adams County First Responders and Sheriff's department and Medical Examiner for their professionalism, compassion and concern. In Lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established to the Mercy Health Foundation @ 500 S. Oakwood Rd. Oshkosh, WI 54904.
