David Michael Krueger's Obituary
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of David Michael Krueger, who left us after a brief illness due to an infection. He faced every day with the same grit, humor, and sarcasm that defined him.
David was a man larger than life — a brilliant mind with a sharp wit and a heart full of love for those closest to him.
For the past 17 years, he proudly owned and operated Woodchucks Bar and Grill in Oshkosh — a place that became more than just a business; it was a second home to countless family, friends, and patrons. His laughter, stories, and one-liners will echo through those walls for years to come. Before his adventures with Woodchucks, David led a successful career in the flooring industry.
He endured an unimaginable loss after the passing of his beloved wife, Sherry Lynn Krueger (O’Bright), in December of 2023. David and Sherry were childhood sweethearts who built a wonderful life together, and Dave looked forward to the day they would be reunited.
David is survived by his loving daughter, Lisa, her husband Derek, and their three boys, Landon (15), Jaxson (12), and Harrison (5), who adored their “Grandpa Woodchuck.”
David is further survived by his siblings: Julie (John) Kaelin, Susan Krueger, Linda (Robert) Hurkman, and Garry (Lizette McCormick) Krueger, all of Oshkosh; Mary Schapekahm of Poy Sippi; Christine (Max) Gehrke of Panama City Beach, FL; and Cynthia Krueger of Racine. He is also survived by many special nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, countless friends, and his late wife’s loving family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sherry , and his parents, Gerhard and Genevieve (Neubauer) Krueger.
His legacy will live on in everyone’s laughter, resilience, and every sarcastic comment made in his honor.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 15th, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Fiss & Bills–Poklasny Funeral Home, 865 S. Westhaven Dr., Oshkosh, WI 54904.
A Celebration of Life will follow at Woodchucks Bar and Grill in Oshkosh.
